2010 was a big semester for us at the UA. We had PFC in April and unlike other Pike chapters I decided to turn our Pike Dream Girl event into a competition of sorts that would stretch out for 2 months (February - April).
The event was of course to start a PDG event for our chapter but as well increase the female interaction we had with the ladies of our University. We sent out applications to each sorority offering of course the Pike Dream Girl Crown but as well $1,000 in scholarship money, $750 to the winner and $125 to two runner-up's. This attracted some attention. As well we now had another block checked within our end of year accomplishments, offering a scholarship to non-rush University students.
Over the two month span we went from the initial 50+ applicants to a final top 12. The ladies during that time went to dinners, mixers, speed-dating style question and answer sessions and on the final night all 12 went one at a time in front of our chapter to explain why they should be selected as our 2010 Dream Girl! The process was great because our brothers had a chance to contribute, socialize and meet women of our University and in the end while we did crown only one woman, we found numerous future Pike supporters because of the relationships we created over those 60 days.
